GEO for a restaurant with private rooms: the Le Père Joseph case
Le Père Joseph is a restaurant, bar and lounge in Rueil-Malmaison, 15 minutes from La Défense, with several private spaces: Orangerie, Lounge, Alcôve, Voyage and terraces. Its goal: to be recommended by AI when an individual or a company looks for a place to host an event.
The starting point: the October 2026 audit

What the audit showed
The website described spaces, not uses. The competitors that were cited use the exact words customers search for: “group menus”, “corporate dinner”.
The official website is ChatGPT’s and Perplexity’s first source when the restaurant is cited.
The Google profile carries the most weight for Gemini and Google’s AI answers.
The restaurant was already on most event platforms, but its listings mentioned neither seminars nor La Défense. The lever: enrich, not sign up elsewhere.
Near La Défense, AI mostly recommends hotels and seminar centres. Chosen angle: the restaurant 15 minutes from La Défense, an alternative to hotels.
Contradictory information was circulating: an old menu, different opening hours from page to page, inconsistent space names.
Cross-checking with real requests
We analysed 1,225 requests received through the restaurant’s form since 2022. Two findings changed the plan:
48 → 99 days
Customers book earlier and earlier
48 days ahead on average in 2022, 99 days in 2026. Each page must be online about three months before its season.
AI invisibility does not explain everything
Part of the variation came from other factors, such as a one-off wave of agency requests. Hence our rule: always cross-check the audit with the client’s own data, over several years, before drawing conclusions.
The action plan
Launch pages: end-of-year parties first (seasonality), corporate events, seminars, team meals, group menus, FAQ.
In parallel: a completed Google profile, reference information aligned across all platforms (website, social media, Zenchef, TheFork, Google, Tripadvisor, directories), enriched event listings.
Then, one page a month: first communion, business breakfast and lunch, access, afterwork.
Steering by conversion rate: from requests to confirmed events.
The corporate end-of-year dinner page, published in October 2026.
First results
A first page dedicated to birthdays, published at the end of August 2026, brought the restaurant back up on ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers within a few days. In September, birthday requests went from 7 in 2025 to 14 in 2026. It is a first signal, still to be confirmed over time.

After the end-of-year page
At the October audit, Le Père Joseph did not appear in any end-of-year search near La Défense. The dedicated page went live in mid-October. In early November, on end-of-year meal searches in Rueil-Malmaison, ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI cite it first. Next step: the same position on searches near La Défense.
